Any music student will tell you that retrograde inversion is that point in serial music where the material is played upside down and backwards. This piece has nothing to do with that at all! It is retrograde in as much as it looks back to the disco era but, apart from that, I just liked the fact that the title alludes to a serious work whereas this is really just meant to be a bit of fun!
