Wind Beneath My Wings was written in 1982 by Jeff Silbar and Larry Henley. They originally envisaged it at a medium tempo but it was slowed to a ballad by Bob Montgomery and has been recorded many times in that form, most notably by Bette Midler as the soundtrack to the film Beaches in 1988.
This sympathetic arrangement was featured on the RAF Massed Bands Tour 2001.
